The Challenge
Rosaholics is a Shopify store that sells and delivers roses. Its search clicks came mostly from blog articles, and the pages that sell roses got a small share. The store needed its seasonal pages to be ready for the search demand that comes before each holiday.
Site audits found long titles, missing and duplicate meta descriptions, duplicate page headings, broken links and images without alt text. The /Blog address returned an error even though it brought around 790 visits a month. Halloween, Black Roses and Fall Collection were not linked to each other, even though they are one seasonal range, and not one link anchor contained the word Halloween.
The Strategy
- Seasonal keyword research - collected queries for Valentine's Day and updated the collection page description around them
- Product titles and descriptions - rewrote titles and descriptions on the best Valentine's Day products using those keywords
- Blog publishing and homepage rotation - published or updated 723 blog article URLs, 28 of them with Halloween in the address, and set up a homepage rotation through October
- Technical fixes - redirected the broken /Blog address, filled in empty product image alt text and checked page speed on Halloween pages. On mobile, the Halloween collection shows real-user LCP of 2.2s, INP of 104 ms and CLS of 0.04
- Link building - placed 91 live links between September 2025 and August 2026 on wedding, home, decor, gifting and lifestyle sites and planned anchors for the seasonal pages
The Results
Why this matters
A holiday gives a store a fixed deadline. Clicks on the Rosaholics Halloween collection rose from 128 to 229 year over year, and the query "halloween roses" went from 11 clicks to 68. The work behind that covered content, technical fixes and links rather than one single change.
Treat a holiday as a deadline: the content, links and collection copy all need to be ready before demand peaks.
Seasonal Shopify SEO also runs on lead time. Articles need to be live before demand peaks, and link building placed too close to a holiday arrives too late to help. Planning the anchors, the content and the collection copy together gives a seasonal page its best chance of being ready when people start searching.
